Print your card
Business cards with your Kard's QR code on them, a review card for your counter, a desk card that folds into a tent and an event poster: for your own printer or any print shop. Free.
Paper still changes hands. Your Kard makes a business card to print: your name, job title, company and photo on the front with how to reach you, and your Kard's QR code on the back. The code opens your Kard as it is the day it's scanned, so a new number or job title reaches people without a reprint. Free on every plan.
Make it
- Open Kards, pick a card, and on the Share tab, under "Printable card", press "Make my printable card".
- Under "Print on", choose where it'll be printed (the table below). It opens on the paper your country uses, from your account's country in Profile, else your Kard's: Letter in the US, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines and the rest of the Americas that print on it, A4 elsewhere.
- Under "Sides", keep "Two-sided" for you on the front and the code on the back, or pick "One-sided" to have both side by side, for a printer that prints one side of the paper.
- Check the preview, then press "Download PDF".
| Print on | What you get |
|---|---|
| A4 sheet | 10 cards of 85 × 55 mm on each A4 sheet, with crop marks to cut on. |
| Letter sheet | 10 cards of 3.5 × 2 in on each Letter sheet, laid out like standard 10-up perforated card sheets. |
| Print shop, 85 × 55 mm | Each side on its own page, with 3 mm of bleed and every word inside the safe area. |
| Print shop, 3.5 × 2 in | The same, with 1/8 in of bleed. |
The QR code is the one your QR studio saved, as it looks on your Share tab; change its look there (Your QR code). The words and the photo come from Edit Kard. What the card says itself, "Scan to save my details" and the like, is in your Kard's languages, the main one first and largest: "Words on the card", above the choices, says which, with "Change" (In your visitor's language).
A review card for your counter
With a Google review link on your Kard (Edit Kard → Google reviews, see Contact channels), the same page prints a review card: under "What to print", pick "Review card". It says "Scan to review us" over five stars, with your business's name and the QR code of your review link, which opens Google's review form straight away. "Two-sided" puts your business card on the front and the review side on the back; "One-sided" is the review side alone, to stand on a counter or hand out with a receipt. "Print on" works the same. The Share tab's "Make a review card" goes straight there.
A desk card and an event poster
Under "What to print", "Desk card" makes a card that folds into a tent for a desk, a counter or a stall: your name, your photo or your team's logo, "Scan to save our details" ("my" on a person's Kard) and the QR code, the same on both sides, so it reads upright from either side of the desk. On a Kard that takes bookings it says "Scan to book" instead: the code still opens your Kard, with its Book button a tap away. Folded, each side is 148 × 105 mm. "A4 sheet" and "Letter sheet" put one on a sheet, with crop marks at its corners and dashed marks where it folds; "Print shop, 148 × 210 mm" is the card flat with 3 mm of bleed. Cut it on the marks, run the back of a knife along a ruler between the dashed marks, and fold it with the print outside.
"Event poster" makes a page for a stand or a noticeboard: "Leave your details for" your event, with its days, the QR code large, and your name. Under "Event", pick one of your Kard's events that's running or coming up (the running one is picked first), or "No event" for a poster that says "Leave your details". Print it on A4, A5 or Letter. Everyone who leaves their details while the event runs is filed under it (Events). The Share tab's "Make a desk card" and "Make an event poster" go straight to each. Both codes count their scans under "QR scans" on your Analytics tab. A whole department's way of working, desk card included: A card for a desk or a department.
Print it
- On your own printer: in the print dialog choose "Actual size" (or 100%), not "Fit to page", or the cards come out the wrong size and miss the marks. For two sides, "Print on both sides" and "Flip on long edge"; try a plain sheet first and hold it to the light. Card stock of 250 to 350 g/m² (about 90 to 130 lb cover) feels like a business card. Cut along the lines the marks point to.
- At a print shop: upload the print-shop PDF to its site, or send it, and order as many as you like. If they ask, the card is the trim size, the bleed is around it, and the colours are RGB.
The whole team at once
An admin prints everyone's cards in one PDF: on the team's page, press "Print cards". The same choices apply, and on a sheet, "How many of each" gives "A sheet each" (10 cards for every person) or "One each" (10 people to a sheet). Under "Kards to print", everyone is ticked; untick anyone who doesn't need cards. One PDF holds up to 50 people's cards, so a bigger team prints in runs, and the page says so. Kards nobody has opened yet have their QR codes drawn first, a few seconds each.
Press "Make the PDF". It's made in the background, about 2 seconds a Kard, so the page says it's being made and updates by itself; you can leave and come back. When it's ready, "Download PDF" saves it. The PDF is kept for a day; to print a change made since, or after that day, make it again. A team makes one PDF at a time. If one can't be made, the page says so; press "Make the PDF" to try again, and if it fails twice, write to hello@ekard.app.
A sheet of a team's cards, with what else a team gets: eKard for teams.
The card prints Latin, Greek and Cyrillic, the scripts of India's languages, Arabic and Hebrew (right to left), Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more. If your Kard uses letters the print fonts don't have, the page says which and asks you to change them in Edit Kard. Emoji stay off paper.
