Bring your card from another app.

Your contact file from Linq, Popl, Blinq, HiHello or your phone fills in your new Kard. The name, job title, phone, email, links and photo land in the form for you to check, and the NFC card you already carry can open your Kard instead.

Three steps

Your old card, in your new Kard.

  1. Save your contact file

Open your old card's link in a browser on a computer and press its save button: a .vcf file downloads. On an Android phone the browser offers it as a download too. Each app's button is below.

  2. Start from a contact file

Sign in, open Kards and press New Kard. Under “Already have a business card?”, choose “Start from a contact file” and pick the file. A file of several contacts asks “Which one is you?”

  3. Check it, then create

The panel lists what it filled in, what it reshaped and what has no place on a Kard, with why. Fix anything, then press Create Kard. Nothing is saved before that.

Where your file is

Every card app hands one out.

The button anyone presses to save your card gives a contact file, so press it on your own card. On an iPhone, Safari opens a preview of the contact instead of a file: use a computer, or the iPhone's own Share Contact.

01 Linq Save ContactOn your Linq page. It reads “Exchange Contact” when Linq asks visitors for their details first, and it's missing when “Allow Contact Download” is off in Linq's page settings. Your card's page

What comes across

Each detail in its own field.

New Kard puts what your file holds where a Kard keeps it, and says what it did with the rest.

  • A Kard shows one phone number and one email. The others are listed under “Not added”, so you can see what was left.
  • A number written without its country code stays as written, with a note to check the country beside it.
  • An address goes under Address, each part in its own field, and your Kard page shows it with a Directions button.
  • The link to your old card is left out, since your Kard takes its place.

Android app · Write your Kard to an NFC tag

Hold the tag to the back of your phone

Keep it still until this says it's written. Any NFC sticker or card works (NTAG213 or larger), even one from another company. It will open ekard.app/noor, replacing what's on it now.

Then

Written. Tap it with any phone to open your Kard

The tag opens ekard.app/noor. It isn't locked, so you can write it again later.

Your NFC card

Keep the card you tap.

An NFC card or sticker holds one link. Write your Kard's link onto it, and every tap opens your Kard instead of the old card.

  • In the Android app, open your Kard and, under “What you can do”, tap “Write to an NFC tag”. The row shows on phones with NFC.
  • Any NFC card or sticker works, NTAG213 or larger, even one from another company. The app doesn't lock it, so you can write it again.
  • If whoever made it locked it, the app says “This tag is locked”: use another tag.
  • On a paid plan, your Kard's Analytics tab counts each tap under NFC taps.

Good to know

Your card, nothing else.

Free on every plan

Starting from a contact file works on every plan, the free one too.

Read, not kept

Your file is read to fill in the form, then dropped. Its photo stays only as your Kard's photo: it comes ticked, and you can untick it.

A whole address book

A file of up to 200 contacts lists them all, with a search box, for you to pick yourself.

The people you met

Your file holds your own card only. The contacts the old app collected for you stay there.

Printed QR codes

Codes printed from the old app open the old card. Print new cards with your Kard's QR code, free. Print your card

From paper too

No contact file? A photo of your printed card fills in the same form. Reading a photo comes with a paid plan.

The paperwork

What does it cost?Nothing. Starting your Kard from a contact file works on every eKard plan, the free one too.

Which files work?A contact file (.vcf) in vCard 2.1, 3.0 or 4.0, up to 10 MB. Reading them is tested on files from Linq, Popl, Blinq, HiHello, link.me, iPhones and Android phones.

Is my file kept? No. It's read to fill in the form, then dropped. Its photo stays only as your Kard's photo: it comes ticked, and you can untick it.

Do the people I met come too?No. Your contact file holds your own card. The people the old app collected for you stay there.

Does my NFC card keep working?Once you write your Kard's link onto it in the eKard Android app, any phone that taps it opens your Kard. Cards and stickers from other companies work too, unless whoever made them locked them.

What about my old link and QR code? They belong to the old app and open your old card there. Share your Kard's own link and QR code, and print new cards from its Share tab, free.
