Moving from another app

Bring your card from Linq, Popl, Blinq, HiHello or your phone in its contact file, and write your new link onto the NFC card you already carry.

The card you made in another app doesn't need typing again. Every app below gives anyone who saves your card a contact file, a .vcf, and that file fills in New Kard for you to check. Contact files work on every plan. Each app's button, the steps and your NFC card, on one page: moving from another app.

Save your contact file

Open your own card's link in a browser on a computer and press its save button: the file downloads. On an Android phone the browser offers it as a download too. On an iPhone, Safari opens a preview of the contact instead of a file, so use a computer, or the iPhone's own steps below.

FromWhat to press
Linq"Save Contact" on your Linq page. It reads "Exchange Contact" when Linq asks visitors for their details first, and it's missing if "Allow Contact Download" is off in Linq's page settings.
Popl"Save Contact". The file carries the links you switched on in Popl's Contact Card.
Blinq"Save Contact", then "Save to contacts".
HiHello"Save Contact", then "Add to Contacts".
iPhoneIn Contacts, open My Card, tap "Share Contact", then save it to Files or mail it to yourself.
Android phoneIn the Contacts app, tap "Your info", then "Share", and send it to yourself.

Start your Kard from it

  1. Open Kards and press "New Kard".
  2. Under "Already have a business card?", choose "Start from a contact file" and pick the file, up to 10 MB. A file of several contacts asks "Which one is you?"
  3. Read what "We filled in" lists, check each field and press "Create Kard". Nothing is saved before that.

If New Kard opens already filled in from details you sent on someone's Kard, press "Start with an empty form instead" to see the panel. What lands where, and what's left out with why, is in Start from a paper card or a contact file. The link to your old card is left out, since your Kard takes its place. The file holds your own card only: the people you met through the old app stay there.

Keep your NFC card

An NFC card or sticker holds one link. Write your Kard's link onto it, and a tap opens your Kard instead of the old one.

  1. In the Android app, open Kards, then your Kard.
  2. Under "What you can do", tap "Write to an NFC tag".
  3. "Hold the tag to the back of your phone" until it says "Written. Tap it with any phone to open your Kard".

Any NFC card or sticker works, NTAG213 or larger, even one from another company. The app doesn't lock it, so you can write it again. If whoever made it locked it, the app says "This tag is locked": use another tag. The row shows only on phones with NFC. On a paid plan, the Kard's Analytics tab counts each tap under "NFC taps".

Good to know

QR codes printed from your old app hold that app's link, so they open your old card. Print your card again with your Kard's QR code.
