Set up your team

Five first steps on a new team's page, for its admins: the logo, your own team Kard, your people, cards printed or sent, the first contact. Each ticks itself.

A team's Kards bring in contacts once its people have them and hand them out. So a new team's page opens, for its admins, with a short list: "Set up your team". It counts what's done ("2 of 5 done"), says what to do next, and puts the buttons for each step beside it. It is Get your Kard seen for a whole team.

The five steps

  1. Add the team's logo, so people know at a glance which team a Kard is from. "Add the logo" opens the team's settings at the logo. Once it's there, the line says whether the Kards show it: "Logo added, not on the Kards yet" offers "Show it on the Kards" (Team branding and links).
  2. Make your own team Kard, or Fill in your own team Kard if you took one as you started the team: "Make my Kard" or "Fill it in". It's done once yours has more than a name and email: a job title, a phone or WhatsApp number, or a photo. Everyone you add gets a Kard like it.
  3. Add people: "Invite by email" opens Members at the invitation form, and "Import a list" takes a spreadsheet (Import your team from a spreadsheet). An invitation still waiting counts. One that ran out before anyone answered doesn't, and the line offers to send it again. People who ask through the join link count once an admin approves them; a request still waiting doesn't (Let people join with a link).
  4. Print the team's cards, or send the Kards: "Print the cards" opens business cards with each person's name and QR code, in one PDF (Print your card), and "Send your Kard" opens your Kard's Share tab ("Send the team's Kard" while you hold none).
  5. The team's first contact comes by itself, when someone sends their details through any of the team's Kards.

How it ticks

Nobody ticks a step by hand: each one is ticked by what happened, on any of the team's Kards and whoever did it. A teammate's printed card or a Kard they sent on WhatsApp counts for the fourth step. The first contact is someone who sent their details, shared their card back, booked or suggested a time; people your team typed in or scanned don't count.

A done step stays on the list as one line with a link on: "Logo added, on every Kard" with "Change it", "3 people on the team, 2 invited" with "Invite more", "First contact on 14 Oct, through Acme Studio", naming the Kard it came through, with "Contacts", and so on. The second step is each admin's own: it looks at your team Kard, so two admins can see different counts.

Who sees it, and when it goes

Only the team's admins see it: in full on the team's page, and on Members as one line, "Set up your team: 2 of 5 done", with what's next and "All 5 steps →". Members who aren't admins don't see it.

Once all five are done, the list goes for good. "Hide this list" at its foot hides it sooner, for every admin of the team, after asking "Hide “Set up your team” for good, for every admin of Acme? Members, Print cards and Settings stay on the team's page." A hidden list doesn't come back.
