Start a team
A name, an address and you're its admin. Free for up to 25 people, invitations waiting included.
Anyone with an account can start a team: one address for the business, its own Kard at that address, and a Kard for each person on it, all under the team's name and logo. You run it as its first admin. Teams on eKard explains what a team is; this course starts one. What a team gets, from importing everyone to printing their cards, is on one page: eKard for teams.
Start it
- In the app sidebar, press "Start a team". It sits under "Teams", or under "Your teams" once you're on one.
- Type the "Team name". It goes on the team's own Kard, its page and every team Kard.
- Check the "Address". It follows the name as you type,
ekard.app/acme_studiofor "Acme Studio", and the line under it says at once whether it's free. Letters, numbers and underscores, 3 to 50 of them, at least one a letter or a number. A name in other letters, Arabic or Hindi say, makes no address: type the one you'd like. - Add a logo if you have one. Square works best, and you can add or change it later. Starting doesn't wait for it: the team is ready at once, and its Kard shows the logo moments later.
- Under "Your Kard in the team", keep "Make me one" for a team Kard with your name and email, at a link and QR code of its own, or pick "Not now" and make it later with New Kard. Already have a Kard of your own, in your name? It offers "Bring in Priya Sharma" instead, picked already. That Kard moves into the team with everything on it, its contacts too, and becomes the team's: any admin you add can see its contacts, hand it to someone else or delete it, and it stays in the team if you leave. Its link becomes the team's for its name,
ekard.app/acme_studio/priya, and its old link and every QR code printed with it keep leading to it. "Not now" keeps it personal: bring it in later from the team's page. - Press "Start the team".
You land on the team's page with its address and five first steps, "Set up your team", each ticked as it's done (Set up your team). An email goes to you too, with the first of them: invite people from Members, import a spreadsheet, and fill in the team's own Kard, the one that opens at its address and its QR code.
A team is free for up to 25 people for now. Each person and each invitation still waiting takes a place; the Members page counts them, as in "3 places are taken (2 people and 1 invitation), 22 are left." To grow past 25, write to hello@ekard.app.
If the page asks you to verify your email
A team's invitations go out in your name, so your address has to be yours. Signed up with an email and password? The page says "Verify your email address to start a team"; press "Email me the link" and open it within 3 days, and you're back on "Start a team". Signing in with Google, resetting your password or joining a team from its invitation counts as verified already.
Limits
- One account runs up to 3 teams. To start another, make someone else an admin of one and leave it, or write to hello@ekard.app.
- Up to 3 new teams a day.
- Deleting a team removes every Kard in it, so eKard does it on request: the team's Settings page says where to write.
Next, bring your people in: one invitation at a time from Members, as Teams on eKard describes, or all at once with Import your team from a spreadsheet, or with one link in your team's group chat: Let people join with a link.
