Report a Kard

Something on a Kard that shouldn't be there: the link at its foot, what the form asks, how fast it's acted on, and what an owner sees if theirs is hidden.

Anyone can report something eKard hosts: a Kard, its photo, a booking page or a file. You don't need an account. Every Kard has "Report this card" at its foot, beside the language picker, in the visitor's language; it opens the complaint form at ekard.app/grievance with the Kard's link filled in. A booking page has "Report this page". Or open the form yourself and paste the link.

What the form asks

  1. "Link to what you're reporting": the Kard, booking page or file, as it appears in the address bar or on the QR code.
  2. "What's wrong with it?": one of five choices, in the table below.
  3. "What's wrong, and where on the page", in your own words.
  4. "Evidence (optional)": up to 3 photos, screenshots or PDFs, 10 MB each. Only the Grievance Officer sees them.
  5. "Your name", "Your email", and "Your phone (optional)", only if you'd like a call about an urgent complaint.
  6. Tick "What I've written is true to the best of my knowledge." and press "Send the complaint".

Your details go only to the Grievance Officer. The owner of what you report isn't shown them unless the law requires it.

How fast it's acted on

What's wrong with it?Acted on within
It pretends to be me, or someone else2 hours
It shows intimate or sexual images of someone2 hours
A court or government order requires its removal3 hours
It breaks the law in another way36 hours
Something else7 days

The clock starts when you send the complaint. Acting means hiding what you reported while it's decided, or deciding it, and either one stops the clock. A court or government order also needs the order's details: who issued it, its number and date.

After you send it

You land on your complaint's own page, and an email, "We received your complaint", brings its reference (GR- and six letters and digits) and the time it will be acted on by. The page needs no sign-in: the link in the email opens it. It says where things stand: "We're looking at it", then "We've hidden it while we decide" if it's hidden first, then "Closed:" and the decision, with the reasons, which are emailed to you too. To add details or evidence, reply to any email about it. Not satisfied with the decision? Reply to it to ask for another look; the decision email and your complaint's page say where else you can appeal.

If it's your Kard

When something of yours is hidden after a complaint, you're normally told by email: "We've hidden" it "after a complaint", with the kind of complaint and its reference. Anyone who opens its link or scans its QR code sees "This Kard isn't available" (or the booking page, or the file) instead. A hidden file leaves your Kard's page, and a hidden booking page takes the Book button off your Kards.

Nothing is deleted: signed in, you can still see and edit it. Think the complaint is wrong? Reply to that email with the reference and why. The Grievance Officer looks again and tells you what they decide, and anything restored is back at once.
