Create your account
One form signs you up and signs you in — with Google or an email and password.
There is one door into eKard. The page at /sign_up_or_login/new is headed "Welcome to eKard", and says it plainly: "Sign in — or if you're new, the same door creates your account." What you enter decides which of the two happens. New accounts start free.
Three ways in
Google. Press "Continue with Google" and pick an account. First time through, eKard creates your account on the spot — name, email and photo come across from Google. Every visit after that, the same button signs you in.
Email. Fill in "Email" and "Password", then press "Continue with email". An address eKard has never seen creates an account instantly; a known address is checked against its password and signs you in. New passwords need at least eight characters. A Welcome email follows with "Confirm your address"; nothing waits for it, so make your first Kard straight away.
A link by email. Type your email and press "Email me a sign-in link" instead: no password. The link signs you in, or makes your account, and confirms the address as it does. Sign in with a link by email covers where to open it.
Three things ask for proof that an email address is yours, later and only if you use them: starting a team (Start a team), asking to join one through its join link (Let people join with a link), and a calendar that emails the people you book. Each sends a link to open within 3 days. A Google account counts as proven already, and so does a link by email opened in the browser that asked for it.
Started with email and pressed "Continue with Google" later? Same address, same account: the two link automatically, and your password keeps working.
Where you land
A Google sign-in with no Kards yet goes straight to the new-card form at /kards/new; everyone else lands on the Kards list at /kards. Either way, the next stop is the course on making your first Kard.
From someone's Kard
A Kard ends with a line that invites its visitors to make their own, such as "Create your own eKard". It opens a page named for that Kard, "Make a Kard like Priya's, free, in a minute", with "You came from Priya Sharma's Kard." beside its photo or initials. It's the same door: "Continue with Google", or your email and a password and "Make my Kard". New or not, you land on the new-card form after. Already signed in, the line takes you straight there.
Forgotten passwords have their own door — the "Forgot password?" link on the same page. The reset flow is covered in the course on your account.
Because an unknown email creates an account instantly, a typo at sign-in does not fail — it opens a fresh, empty account. If your Kards seem to have vanished, check the address you typed before anything else.
