Change your team's address
Admins change it themselves. The old address, the team's old links and every printed QR code lead to the new one.
A team's address, ekard.app/acme_studio, opens its own Kard and starts every team Kard's link: ekard.app/acme_studio/priya. If the business renames, or the address was a first guess, an admin changes it in a minute, and nothing printed stops working.
Change it
- Open the team from "Your organizations" in the sidebar and press "Settings".
- Press "Edit name, address & logo".
- Type the new address. The line under the field answers as you type: "ekard.app/acme_co is free.", or why it isn't.
- Press "Save". The page confirms the new address and that the old one leads there.
An address uses letters, numbers and underscores, 3 to 50 of them. It can't be a word the site uses for its own pages, the link of a Kard (one of the team's own included), or an old address that still leads to someone else's page.
What follows the new address
- The team's own Kard moves with it, from
/acme_studioto/acme_co. - The old address sends visitors to the new one, and so do the team Kards' old links, the documents under them, and every QR code already printed.
- The QR codes on the Share tab and on documents are made again with the new address, ready for the next print run.
- The people holding team Kards get an email with their new links. Nothing needs doing on their side.
- Nobody else can take the old address, so a printed QR code never lands on someone else's page.
Where someone typed the old address by hand, in an email signature, a website or a social profile, it keeps working, but it's worth changing to the new one at the next edit. A domain of your own connected to the team (Custom domains) isn't touched by a new address.
Only admins, and through the API
Members see the team's page, not its settings: a member who opens them is told which admins to ask. An app or AI agent with an admin's key can rename a team too, with PATCH /api/v1/organizations/{slug}, and the same checks and emails apply (AI agents and MCP).
