AI agents and MCP

Let Claude, Cursor or your own agent work your Kards, contacts and calendar with your key: one block to paste, or an MCP server.

An AI agent can do your eKard chores for you: change a phone number on every Kard, find the people you met at the expo, tell you how a Kard is doing, book a client for Tuesday. It works with your key, so it can do what you can do in the app, and nothing more. There are two ways in, and both start on one page: AI Agents, in the menu under your name (or on your Profile page).

Paste one block

For a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, or any tool that can call a web API: press "Copy the block" and paste it into the agent. The block holds the instructions, the link to the API reference and your personal API key. The agent reads the reference and starts by checking it can reach your account.

Connect over MCP

Apps that speak MCP, the Model Context Protocol (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and the Claude and OpenAI APIs), connect to your account as a server, with the same key. The page's "Or connect an app over MCP" panel gives the two things every app asks for, each with a copy button:

  • Server URL: https://ekard.app/api/v1/mcp.
  • Header: Authorization: Bearer and your key.

Below them, the setup for Claude Code (one command to run in a terminal), Cursor and VS Code (a few lines for their MCP settings file) is ready to copy, your key already in it. Then ask in plain words: "who did I meet at the expo?", "how is my Kard doing?", "book Sam for Tuesday".

What an agent can do

The MCP server has tools for your account, your Kards and their analytics, your events, your contacts (search, read, add and change), and, if you take bookings, your calendars: the schedule, free times, booking, moving, cancelling and marking bookings, and finding a client. Two more reach everything else: one reads the API reference, the other makes any Agent API request. Everything goes through the same API, with the same rules and limits, so a front-desk login's key can do what the front desk can, no more (Webhooks and the API).

Careful

The key acts as you, with full access to your account. Paste it only into tools you trust, and never into a shared document. If it leaks, press "Generate new key" on the AI Agents page: the old key stops working at once, for agents and MCP apps alike, until you give them the new one.

Not yet

claude.ai and the ChatGPT app add servers from their connector menus, which sign you in instead of taking a key, and that isn't ready yet. Until it is, use one of the apps above. An agent can make up to 120 MCP requests a minute.

The full reference is plain markdown, the same document your agent reads, at ekard.app/api/v1/docs; the developers page has the overview.
