Course 103 3 min

Find your way around

Your card has two faces — the public page and the owner view with its five tabs.

The public page is what anyone who follows your link or scans your QR sees. The owner view is your side of the counter: sign in, open the card from your Kards list, and the dashboard is yours alone.

The public page

It lives at your card's link — ekard.app/… — and asks nothing of your visitor: no app to install, any browser, on any phone. What it shows is exactly what you put on the card.

New cards start hidden from search engines. Until you flip the toggle on the card's Settings tab — it reads "Kard is hidden from search engines." until you switch it — your page is found only by people who hold the link or the QR.

The owner view

Opening a card from the list lands you on its Share tab, with an "Edit Kard" button close by and five tabs across the top — a dropdown on phones. Desktops keep a "Live preview" of your public page beside the tabs; phones get a "Preview" button instead:

A label only you see

The card editor's "Private" section holds a Nickname — a label only you see, to tell lookalike Kards apart on your list. It lives with the rest of the identity panel in the course on name, tagline and photo.

When edits appear

Public pages are served from a cache at the network edge. Every save refreshes that cache in the background, so a fresh edit can take a short moment to appear on the live page. If you reload and see yesterday's card, wait a beat and reload again.
